Welcome to the 2000/2001 School Year

The 2000/2001 school year promises to be eventful.  Last year we were able to allocate $10,000 toward the fitness trail scheduled to be in place the summer of 2001.  This trail will span the perimeter of the playground and connect the existing walkway.  Image Elementary School will have this trail because of the efforts put forth by our students, parents, and staff...Thank You!!!

  The PTO has been approached by our principal, Tom Nadal, with regard to the allocation of funds for many activities, supplies, and programs which are not included in the school's operating budget.  These include the Artist in Residence program, which would bring an artist to our school for a period of time, Author Visits, which would bring authors to our school enhancing the written skills of our children, and the Teacher's fund, this fund would provide funds to our children's teachers for the cost of materials, supplies, and other necessary items which are not covered under the school's operating budget. 

The PTO would also like to allocate money to cover the repair/replacement of the microphones in the gym.  Currently these microphones are in disrepair and were not replaced when the PA system was replaced last year.  The new microphones would be used in music practice, recitals, physical education and other assemblies.  Currently most of the assemblies (like the reptile man last year), parent/student programs (like Muffins with Mom & Donuts with Dad), and graduation for the fifth grade class are funded by PTO.  Hence, we need your help to earn even more money than we did last year.  Yes, it will be a big fundraising year...but you will see the benefits of your family's efforts this year and in the years to come. 

Remember, as a parent, you are a voting member of the PTO and we need your input.  Please plan to attend our general PTO meetings which will be held the third Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at Image Elementary School.  Bring any thoughts and questions to us, we may not know the answer at that point, but we will do the best to find out and get back with you.  If you cannot make it to a meeting, please be sure to check this website often.  Or, you can post a message generating discussion and a vote.
